- ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆My friends and I came here for a group dinner. If you're planning to come as a group (4+ people) then I recommend trying out the private Japanese style rooms. They add a nice touch to the atmosphere, and it's great for social interaction. Bad thing is that it may become a little uncomfortable after sitting for a long period. They also their own fish tank near the entrance (sorry forgot to take a picture of it) so they definitely have some super fresh ingredients. As you enter further, you'll see a sushi bar and some tables set up. Overall, I liked the layout of the restaurant. The menu wasn't too over whelming for a place serving both Japanese and Korean dishes. The prices are a bit above average compared to other sushi places in the neighbourhood. I would have liked to see some more options for sushi and roll combinations, but they offer a variety of starters/appetizers that other sushi places don't. Overall, the food was quite good. I liked the Gangnam Style chicken, which had just the right amount of spiciness and sweetness. The prawn and avocado salad was alright, it had good but typical flavour for the salad dressing. The regular rolls (had the spicy tuna roll) were also quite good, but pretty typical. However the special rolls had a good presentation, flavour, and texture. This place is recommended for laughs and good cozy times with friends, while enjoying great food. Also, I recommend trying here for lunch as they have good selections and prices for lunch specials!By Danny Koh, June 01, 2017
- ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆Nice little restaurant, used to go there for my lunch breaks. They have special menus for certain times. Wide selection, tasty food at a good price and good service to go along. They have some asian beers and North American ones, some sake. Place is big enough and they also have a large group room. I really enjoyed their food and it s family friendly too with some vegetarian options.By kham Velasquez, May 20, 2017
- ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆I eat at Akasaka once or twice a week both take-out and in restaurant. Service is always friendly and prompt. We stick to the Japanese side of the menu, but have heard good things about the Korean offerings. Quality of fresh fish and seasoning of the sushi rice is excellent. Sometimes they are a little delayed in bringing the bill or checking up on you after having received your food. They do have handy call buttons for service. This is my go to in Guildford where the options are numerous. Pro-tip: For the bigger rolls if you don't like stuffing them in your mouth ask for them "small cut". You'll get the same amount of food just slimmer and more pieces.By garrett750, October 09, 2016
